This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app “Capamap” (the “App”) handles your data. The App is developed by Clone Information Ltd. (克隆資訊有限公司, “we” or “us”), published on Google Play, and is free, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no account system.

1. Summary

All checks run on your phone. Results and reports stay on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
The App does not use any advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs.
We do not collect, sell or share your personal data.
The App’s only network transmission is Google Play Integrity verification (see Section 4).

2. What the App Does

Capamap checks which features your phone has and whether they work — for example screen size, battery health, memory, storage, cameras, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / 5G and various sensors — and generates a detection report (JSON / Markdown) for developers and general users. The real-time sensing screen shows gyroscope, accelerometer, compass and level readings live as you move the phone.

3. Permissions and Their Purposes

The data below is used only on your phone for detection and never leaves the device. Every permission can be denied; if you deny one, only that check shows “permission required” and everything else works normally.

Camera: opens the camera once to test its speed; takes no photos and stores no images.
Microphone: records briefly to confirm audio input; no audio is kept.
Location: checks GPS satellites and dual-frequency positioning capability; no coordinates are output.
Nearby devices (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi): scans briefly and only counts devices; not used to infer your location.
Phone: reads SIM card and mobile network (e.g. 5G) status; phone numbers are masked.
Physical activity: reads the step counter sensor.
Notifications, alarms & reminders, biometrics: only checks whether these features are available.

4. The Only Network Connection: Google Play Integrity

The App uses the Google Play Integrity API to confirm that the App has not been tampered with and that the device environment can be trusted:

The App obtains a verification token from Google Play services on your phone.
The token is sent over encrypted HTTPS to our verification server on Google Cloud.
The server passes the token to Google for a verdict and returns the result to the App.

The token is discarded after use, and our server does not record any personally identifiable information. This is the App’s only network transmission.

During verification, Google Play processes the app and device information needed for the verdict, such as the App’s package name, version and signing certificate, Google Play licensing status, and device attestation information generated by Google Play services. According to Google’s Play Integrity data safety information, this data is used to verify app integrity, licensing status and device integrity; it is encrypted, is not transferred to third parties, and is deleted after a fixed retention period. Google processes data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Sharing and Saving Reports

A report is handed to an app or location you choose only when you tap “Share” or “Save”; from then on, that app or location handles it under its own policies.
Identifiable information in reports, such as phone numbers, Wi-Fi network names and location coordinates, is always masked.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Detection results and reports are stored only on your phone until you delete them.
Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in your phone’s settings, deletes all reports.
Copies you have shared or saved elsewhere must be deleted in that app or location.
Our server keeps no personally identifiable information, so there is no personal data for you to request deletion of.

7. Data Security

Detection is performed on your phone; data is not sent to our servers.
The only network connection (Play Integrity verification) is encrypted with HTTPS throughout.
Reports mask identifiable information in advance, so sharing them does not reveal phone numbers, Wi-Fi names or location coordinates.

However, no network transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee that data will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed through hacking, malware or other factors beyond our control.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children.

This policy applies only to the Capamap app. This page is hosted on the Clone Information website; for how the website itself handles data (such as website analytics and the contact form), see the website’s Privacy Policy (in Traditional Chinese).

10. Disclaimer and Terms of Use

By downloading, installing or using the App, you confirm that you have fully read, understood and agree to this policy and the following terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, do not download, install or use the App.

Provided “as is”. The App is provided free of charge on an “as is” and “as available” basis and may contain errors that have not yet been identified. We make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, reliability or fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not guarantee that the App or any of its features will continue to be available.
Results are for reference only. Detection results may differ from actual conditions due to the device model, system version, manufacturer customization, sensor calibration, hardware aging, permission settings or the environment of use. You should verify them yourself and must not rely on them entirely. Results do not constitute a basis or professional advice for repairs, purchases, resale, warranty claims or any other decision; any decision you make based on them is your own judgment and responsibility.
Not for safety-critical or professional use. Compass, level, gyroscope, accelerometer and other readings are for reference only and must not be relied upon for navigation, surveying, construction, medical purposes or anything affecting personal safety or property.
Use at your own risk. Features such as real-time sensing require shaking or moving the phone. Hold your phone securely and use it in a safe environment. You are solely responsible for drops, impacts and device damage caused by careless handling, as well as battery drain, heat or data loss during detection; please back up important data before use. You waive any and all claims against us for any loss or damage arising from these risks of using the App. The risks above are examples only and are not exhaustive.
No guarantee of uninterrupted service. The App relies on the Android system, device manufacturers and Google Play services (including Play Integrity verification), whose availability and verdicts are beyond our control. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all devices and system versions.
Force majeure. We are not liable for any damage caused by natural disasters, power outages, network or telecommunications interruptions, third-party service failures, hacking, computer viruses, malware, phishing attacks, or any other force majeure event or cause not attributable to us.
Limitation of liability. The App is provided free of charge. Unless you prove that a loss or damage was directly caused by a defect in the App itself, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of or inability to use the App. Even where such proof is provided, we shall be liable only for direct damages caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence. “Direct damages” means the damaged property itself and excludes any lost profits, lost business opportunities, data loss, and any special, incidental, indirect, consequential or punitive damages. We shall not be liable for any damage or loss that is not reasonably foreseeable.
License and restrictions. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App; copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the App belong to Clone Information Ltd., and you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, repackage or redistribute the App, circumvent security mechanisms such as Play Integrity, or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
Your indemnification. If your use of the App in breach of this policy, these terms or applicable law leads to a third-party claim against us or causes us any loss, you shall indemnify us for all resulting losses, including reasonable investigation and attorneys’ fees.
Changes to features. We may modify, suspend or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without prior notice; changes affecting how data is handled will be reflected on this page under Section 11.
Severability and survival. If any provision of this policy, or any part of a provision, is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions and the remainder of that provision remain in full force and effect. The disclaimers and limitations of liability in this section apply to the maximum extent permitted by law and survive after you stop using or uninstall the App.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time without prior notice. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If you continue to use the App after an update, you are deemed to accept the updated policy; if you do not agree, please stop using and uninstall the App immediately.

12. Governing Law, Jurisdiction and Language

This policy and the disclaimer are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute arising from or relating to the App or this policy shall be submitted to the district court of the place where the company is located as the court of first instance. This English version is provided for convenience; in case of any discrepancy between the English and Traditional Chinese versions, the Traditional Chinese version shall prevail.
