Effective date: November 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Android app “SwiftPlay” (package name tw.com.cloneinfo.swiftplay, the “App”) handles your data. The App is developed by Clone Information Ltd. (克隆資訊有限公司, “we” or “us”), published on Google Play, and has no account system.
1. Summary
- The App has no account system and uses no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.
- We do not run any server for the App. We do not access, store or share any of your data, including device credentials and video.
- Your device information stays on your phone; device credentials are encrypted with the Android Keystore and never leave your phone.
- The only data sent to a third party is a device serial number, when you choose a device maker’s P2P service (see Section 3).
2. What the App does
SwiftPlay is a viewer for surveillance devices (video recorders and cameras). After adding your own devices, you can:
- Watch live video, play back recordings, view device information and change device settings.
- Receive motion detection notifications. When you turn this on, the App keeps a connection to the device in the background to receive detection events.
- Use two-way talk, which sends sound from your phone’s microphone to the camera.
- Download recordings to your phone (downloads can resume after interruption) and share videos.
- Export your device list (see Section 5).
3. Connection methods and where data goes
The App connects to your devices in the way you choose. Video and device data travel only between your phone and your device (or your own gateway), never through us:
- Direct connection: you enter the device’s IP address and port, and the App connects to the device directly.
- Device maker’s P2P service: some devices can be reached by serial number. In this case the App sends the device serial number to that device maker’s P2P server to locate your device; once connected, video travels directly between your phone and the device. How the device maker handles serial numbers and connection information is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Your self-hosted home gateway: the App authenticates with a client certificate issued by your gateway (mutual TLS). With this method, camera usernames and passwords are stored only on your gateway, not on your phone.
4. Data stored on your phone
The following data is stored only on your phone, and we cannot access it:
- Device information: device names, IP address and port or serial number, thumbnails, and view and notification settings, stored in the App’s private storage.
- Device credentials: encrypted with the Android Keystore and never leave your phone.
- Gateway client certificate: the private key is stored in the Android Keystore and cannot be exported.
- Temporary download files: removed when a download finishes or the download task is deleted.
- Downloaded videos: saved to your photo gallery in the Movies/SwiftPlay folder.
The App does not take part in Android system backup or device transfer, so this data is not backed up to the cloud and is not moved to a new phone.
5. Sharing videos and exporting the device list
- A video is handed to another app only when you tap “Share” and choose that app; after that, the receiving app handles it under its own policy.
- An exported device list does not include passwords by default. Passwords are written to the file in plain text only if you choose to include them. Keep such a file safe, and do not send it to others or put it anywhere public.
6. Permissions and their purposes
- Internet, network state and local network: to connect to your devices or gateway.
- Microphone: used only while you hold two-way talk; sound is sent to the camera in real time and is not recorded or stored.
- Run user-initiated data transfer jobs: lets downloads you started continue after you leave the App.
- Foreground service (special use): keeps a background connection to the device to receive motion detection events after you turn on detection notifications.
- Notifications: to show download progress and motion detection alerts. If you deny this permission, the rest of the App works as usual.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Device information on your phone is kept until you delete it. You can delete a device in the App at any time.
- Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in your phone’s settings, deletes all data the App stores, including credentials and certificates in the Keystore.
- Videos already downloaded to your gallery, and files you have shared or exported, are not deleted with the App. Please delete them yourself.
- We do not store any of your data, so there is no personal data for you to request deletion of.
8. Data security
- Device credentials and the gateway certificate’s private key are stored in the Android Keystore, encrypted and protected by the Android system so they cannot be read out directly.
- When you use a self-hosted gateway, mutual TLS ensures that only phones holding a valid certificate can connect.
- The App does not use any third-party SDK to collect data.
Encryption for direct and P2P connections depends on what your device and the device maker support. No network transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by hacking, malware, weaknesses in the device itself or other factors beyond our control.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children.
10. This page and our website
This Privacy Policy applies only to the SwiftPlay app. This page is hosted on the Clone Information website; for how we handle data when you browse the website (for example, site analytics and the contact form), see the website’s privacy policy (Traditional Chinese).

Even where such a defect is proven, we are liable only for direct damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence. “Direct damage” means only the damaged property itself and excludes any loss of profit, loss of business opportunity, loss of data, and any special, incidental, indirect, consequential or punitive damages.
